JUANJO NOVELLA

Wins International CODAawards Merit Award

MADISON, WI, September 1, 2022 – When artists, designers, industry resources, and clients work together, common places are transformed into spectacular spaces. CODAworx, the hub of the commissioned art economy, has once again partnered with Interior Design magazine to announce the winners of the eighth annual international CODAawards: Collaboration of Design + Art. The CODA awards recognize collaborations that result in outstanding projects which successfully integrate commissioned art into interior, architectural, or public spaces.
TAINAN SEA GATE & NATURE SPREADS public art project received Merit honors in the category of – INSTITUTIONAL ART-

The project features:

Tainan city, the tree house, seduces us because it speaks to us in an intimate way, also as a human group, we all feel affected by its message. This message, today more than ever, becomes urgent, a call for help but also for hope in ecological terms.
We like the tree house so much because deeply it gives us hope and confirms our certainty: NATURE ALWAYS RECOVERS ITS SPACE.
Trees, an ecological symbol of great power, with their branches, roots, with their whole being, colonize an abandoned house. It is a symbol of great beauty, the result moves us and makes us feel and think. You there feel affected. The house is the symbol of man, his armor his refuge and his work. The house is the testimony of the presence of the human being.
When Novella considered creating a sculpture project for Tainan, he couldn’t ignore this powerful reference, both visual and conceptual.
