This sculpture is a meeting of meanings between form and text.

The leaf of the site tree, the leaf of a student’s notebook, the leaf as a verb, everything comes together to generate a curtain with a great open meaning. The phrase “to leaf is to learn” is by the renowned English poet Simon Armitage, who wrote it specifically for this project.

The sculpture hides an electrical substation, as was the wish of the University.
